Job Description / Duties
The Society of Orthopeadic Medicine has recently undergone a strategic planning process and part time administrative support is required to enable the newly appointed Society Administrator to achieve the organisations goals.

This role is part-time, 20 hours per week and is based in 151 Dale Street, Liverpool 2l2AH. There is some flexibility to negotiate exact working hours to suit the successful candidate.

Specific duties include

Office administration:
 Responding to admin@somed.org emails within 24 hours of receipt;
 Ensuring adequate supplies of resources (stationery etc) are maintained;
 Processing credit card payments and banking cheques;

Course administration:
• Being point of contact for attendees and dealing promptly with all queries;
• Checking eligibility of incoming bookings and process within 48 hours of receipt;
• Sending relevant handbooks, confirmation letters, maps, directions etc to attendees;
• Maintaining database
• Assisting with preparation and dissemination of all course materials for course teaching team
• Marking membership written examinations and associated tasks

Membership and Diploma related administration:
 Co-ordinating the assessment of reflective essays, producing relevant correspondence and certificates, and updating records.
 Processing incoming membership applications
 Credit Control and “lapsing” members as required
 Assisting with production of newsletter


Being an active member of the SOM staff team:
 Providing a high standard of customer service, both written and verbal, by resolving all queries promptly and effectively;
 Ensuring that all paperwork is filed appropriately and timely;
 Undertaking administrative tasks relevant to individual role, and assisting with colleagues’ administration needs as required;
 Providing office cover during colleagues’ absences;
 Proactively contributing to the future strategic direction of the SOM;
 Undertaking additional duties and training as required by the Society Administrator
